Make a healthy gourmet burger at home with our version of the classic burger. Made with brioche buns, grass fed beef patties, cheddar cheese, dill cucumbers, onions, tomato, smokey BBQ sauce and mixed leaf lettuce. All served with the best oven chips you will ever make. So good!
30 Minutes. Perfect for a night in (or after a big night out!).
2 beef patties (125g each)
2 brioche buns
1 brown onion
2 slices cheddar cheese
2 dill pickles
30g mixed leaf salad
2 tablespoons BBQ Sauce
500g desiree potatoes
Preheat oven to 200*C, fan bake. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Cook potato chips
Wash the potatoes and cut into 0.5 cm slices. Lightly oil and salt and pepper the potatoes and combine to coat in a mixing bowl. Place a single layer on the prepared baking tray. Place in the oven (allow room for the buns on a shelf above) and cook for 25 minutes until golden and crisp.
Slice buns in half and place in the oven with the cut sides of buns facing up for 2 - 4 minutes until lightly toasted. Remove and set aside.
Prepare & cook burger
While the chips and buns are cooking, thinly slice onions into rings. Heat a lightly oiled large fry pan over a medium to high heat, add patties and onions. Cook patties for 2 minutes each side (medium), remove and cover with tin foil to rest. Please note juices will run. This is good. Continue to cook the onions until they are soft. Top the base of the buns with cheese, lettuce, sliced tomato, patties, onion and sliced pickles. Spread BBQ sauce on the top half of bun.
Plate burger with chips. Enjoy!
